Type 1 vs. Type 2 Diabetes

Type 1 vs. Type 2 Diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease where the person’s body destroys the insulin-producing cells. These people do not produce insulin so they must replace the insulin using insulin injections or insulin pump therapy. In Type 2 Diabetes, insulin is produced however it may be produced an insufficient amount, and the insulin that is produced does not work properly. There’s really nothing somebody can do to prevent themselves from getting Type 1 diabetes. But with Type 2 diabetes, we know that trying to get down to a lean weight, and trying to be more physically active those things can help delay or prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes. It’s important to try and attain and maintain a healthy body weight, and to incorporate 150 minutes of physical activity into your lifestyle every week.
