goals when it comes to getting into shape we can think of a zillion reasons to convince ourselves not to get started or see it through and I get it it can seem like hard work or a big change and sometimes that can seem uncomfortable but it only seems like that because the rewards of self-confidence higher energy and overall a healthier you outweigh the little habits of comfort we think we have to part with at the end of the day it really comes down to how bad you want a better sexier healthier life so I’ve compiled the list of the top 10 excuses that are keeping you from getting you fit number 10 bad genetics please please please never tell yourself that you have bad genetics this is one of the worst things anyone can tell themselves as this will keep you doomed to believe that you can never get into shape the world is filled with thousands of people that have made insane body transformations just go follow the hashtag body transformations on Instagram and you’ll see people all over the world changing their lives by losing hundreds of pounds or just getting into overall better shape all these people did was tell themselves that they were able to do it they got sick of how they were living and became determined enough so that nothing would get in their way here are a couple examples to check out these people are incredibly inspirational they didn’t subscribe to the idea that they were stuck or doomed to be overweight for the rest of their lives they committed to making a change and have found a new way of living that makes them not just feel better physically but better about themselves on the inside and there are thousands more people doing the same if you want it you can have it just get going you’ll learn the rest later because you might be making this next excuse number 9 I don’t know how maybe you see people that are in great shape and wonder how they ever got there there’s always going to be a learning curve but you don’t need to know everything about fitness and to get started I can guarantee you that you will 100% make many of the same mistakes I did it’s part of the game so get used to it but I do have a video on some of those mistakes that I’ll link in the comments so give it a watch it’ll give you a leg up and put you ahead of the curve and that’s the thing we live in the information age a quick google or youtube search will bring countless results of great information of how you can get started there’s also some shitty information out there so you’ll have to be a little mindful of who you’re getting your fitness information from my channel simple physique is designed to cut through that crap and be a place that you can rely on for solid fitness and nutrition advice so you have the tools to achieve your goals but in the meantime start small all you have to do is make small changes at first whether you get your info from one of my videos or not find a fitness and nutrition protocol that you can stick with and run with it number eight I’m embarrassed or afraid of judgments ok so let’s say you learned a few exercises for the gym but you’re still afraid of looking stupid or not knowing what you’re doing you think everyone’s looking at you or judging you well guess what they’re not first of all we all have to start somewhere no one goes into anything knowing it all working out in the gym and proper nutrition is a practice just like anything else you get better at it with time and that will never happen unless you get over this fear of feeling silly and just get going you should feel amazing that you’re making a positive change in your life cut yourself some slack and just educate yourself as much as possible so you can improve each time you go also in the extremely rare occasion at the gym where some asshole might look over and Bach come number seven I don’t have a gym membership or I have to go to the gym ok if you think you need to be at the gym all the time to get in the great shape think again in fact you don’t ever have to set foot in a gym if you don’t want to if fat loss is your goal then that’s 90% proper nutrition anyways you can workout all you want but if your nutrition isn’t on point then you’re gonna have a tough time but if you want to do more than just lose fat if you want to get that toned sexy physique that you see in the movies and Oh Graham then yes some form of strength training is going to help you get there but this can be done in a number of ways if you don’t like the gym setting then outdoor boot camps have become a popular way to get your workout on indoor rock climbing is a fun one that a lot of people are doing these days or just doing bodyweight calisthenic exercises at home like push-ups and squats will help you get on your way number six I can’t afford it this excuse is complete nonsense first of all if you did want to join a gym membership prices are pretty low these days fifteen to thirty dollars a month for the biggest chains like 24-hour le fitness crunch and Planet Fitness if you can afford your Netflix or Amazon subscription or paying for a $5 coffee at Starbucks multiple times a week or going out for drinks on the weekend which we all know is super pricey and you can afford a gym membership now what about food will you spend more on groceries yeah you probably will but you won’t be dining out all the time instead of each meal costing about fifteen to twenty dollars meals made at home cost just a few bucks and if you do decide to workout at home well that’s completely free money should never be an excuse to not get into shape you don’t have to buy expensive meal plans or personal trainers or buy into the latest fitness fad to get super fit not being able to afford it is an excuse you should never tell yourself number five I’ve tried everything and nothing works we all know that there’s a new diet fad out there every week or someone promising that if you do this actors worked out you’ll get shredded like them odds are you’ve probably tried many of these if not seen most of them on the internet some common ones that are popular right now are keto low carb paleo and intermittent fasting there’s really nothing wrong with any of these I can make good arguments to support each one but none of these have any magical properties about them the reason they all can work is that when followed properly they’re likely to restrict your calories so that you are in a calorie deficit I’m not going to get into the studies right now that support how each one of these diet fads can speed up fat loss that’s all still debatable but the main reason I’m not going to talk about it on this video is because even the best studies don’t mean anything if you can’t sustain one of these nutrition protocols in the first place the biggest thing that you need to find is a nutrition protocol that you can enjoy and sustain in the long run that’s why nothing has worked you haven’t given fat-loss a chance to work it takes time for your body to change which brings me to my next excuse that we tell ourselves number four it’ll take too long like I just said that loss takes time here’s some truth for you a healthy rate of fat loss is about one to two pounds a week I’m sorry you’re not gonna lose 10 to 15 pounds in two weeks like you might hear in some places it’s possible to lose that weight on the scale but it’s mostly water weight and it’ll come right back after you stop whatever restrictive diet you use to get there you probably didn’t gain 10 to 15 pounds in two weeks either so don’t expect it to fall off that fast fall in love with the journey this is why it’s so incredibly important to find something that you enjoy enough to stick with for the time it takes to lose the weight you hear the term lifestyle change a lot and that’s pretty much what it’s about this change doesn’t have to be terribly drastic or forever perfect and it likely never will be or should be you can still enjoy the indulgent things but it’s all about that balance you don’t have to swear off the things you love which means you don’t have to tell yourself number three food will be boring not at all especially in today’s world it’s so easy to make delicious meals that are healthy nutritious and lowering calories you can make healthy versions of all your favourite meals you just need to get a little creative and there’s plenty of items out there that help you do that I mean we live in a great day and age that makes it so easy to eat healthy and at the same time consider this our palates are pretty spoiled these days the typical Western diet is loaded with so much extra fat sugar in salt that when given the option to eat healthy we find it bland luckily it doesn’t take long for our palates to adjust back to normal after starting to implement meals that have normal levels of fat sugar and salt these meals will start to taste so much better and you’ll even start to crave the more nutritious options there are plenty of places on Instagram to get ideas for healthy meals and these pages here are a great place to start for inspiration and again you don’t have to cut out the indulgent foods you love and crave at times just find that balance and experiment with healthier options that you enjoy there’s so much to choose from these days and you will soon find that eating healthy can be insanely delicious number two I’ll be hungry all the time this isn’t true either in fact if you’re trying to go on a diet that restricts your calories too much it’s not the one you should be on anyway if you’re able to make the switch to eating more nutritious food you’ll probably find that eating at your calorie goal is quite filling healthier options tend to be less calorie dense meaning you’ll have to eat more of it to hit your calorie goal not only that but it’s the processed foods that actually make you hungry all the time they tend to be higher and refined sugar which spikes your blood sugar levels then dropping shortly afterward leaving you to crave more of that process too crap nutritious foods stabilize your blood sugar more evenly so that your hunger and energy levels are balanced throughout the day consider this excuse debunked – eating healthier keeps you full throughout the day as long as your calories aren’t too restrictive and the number one excuse me you might be making I don’t have time we’ve all said this one we’re also never more full of shit when we say this to ourselves so just stop it get some help not having time is the biggest cop-out there is you don’t have to be in the gym for hours a day all week to get into shape and you don’t have to sacrifice doing all the things you love to make the time either do you sometimes have to make a little room in your life to make healthier changes yes but just like anything else if it’s important to you you’ll make the time if you think you don’t have time to get fit then watch my one should ever let any of these excuses get in the way of being the healthiest sexiest version of you always remember that you are ultimately the only one who can keep you from achieving your goals
