Seattle Trainer Answers The Question: Why Am I Not Burning Fat Running?


One of the questions I get asked so
frequently from very very frustrated people is why am I not burning any fat–
I’m running all the time I’m hitting the treadmill I’m running around Green Lake
I’m at Discovery Park– listen your body adapts very very quickly to steady-state
cardio and if you want to change your body composition if you want to reduce
your body fat and increase your muscle tone for more definition your clothes will fit better– you’ve got to add in resistance training you’ve got to do
some strength training because that’s where you build muscle and that’s where
you also burn body fat as you’re replacing it with muscle so you can do
it with cardio alone and I know that’s been frustrating so put the cardio to
the side and let’s pick up some weights let’s get stronger build muscle and
that’s gonna help you burn body fat so that’s why you haven’t been burning fat
from just running because you got to add in the strength training! Hope this
