After I had my daughter I really noticed
the weight gain. I got heavier and heavier every year and
to the point where I didn’t even recognize myself I train new onboarding physicians, show
them Epic, I also do a lot of support for those physicians. I learned of Dr.
Fredrickson’s new program because I think I have a little bit of an ear to
the ground here at Renown. We collaborated together and I found the
program that worked for me, and it was seamless! The first couple days were
horrible, and then after that the diet that I was on worked so well. It was
black and white; there weren’t a lot of choices to make – I had four shakes a day.
Boom. Done. Not only do you see the doctor every visit, but you also see a dietitian,
and I worked with Caitlin who is just amazing. Motivate U came at the perfect time
for me. I was just at the point where I really needed to start working out, but I
ended up with Evoke and it was the perfect gym for me. This is kind of hard
core workout and you just go as hard as you can, and the minute you think you’re
about to just keel over, you do something else, and you try something else. This is
for the female overall winner coming out of the vote – Ginny Crawford! [applause] When I started in October I weighed 271 pounds, and then I started Motivate U in February and I
was at 207. So I had lost, you know, a good 60-65 pounds, something like that, and
then through Motivate U I got down another 40-45 pounds. I think my goal
is about 150. Jenny was one of our first patients. She was amazing from the
beginning. She was so motivated, so ready to make a change, and really took
everything to heart that we said, and I think that made the difference for her.
She really was open-minded, wanted to jump right in with both feet and just
really do what needed to be done. I’m so nervous because of course I’ve
lost weight a million times. My biggest fear is gaining it back again. When
people start to reach their weight-loss goals and the next goal is to maintain
the weight that they’ve lost, that can really be a
challenge and that sometimes can be harder than losing the weight itself. I
think that’s one of the benefits of our program is that we really want to
continue their care; we don’t want to just say, “okay now you’ve lost the weight
and you’re finished,” because it’s really a lifelong process. Because I’m
maintaining my contact with the doctor and I’m still seeing her, I’m gonna be
working out at Evoke and staying on their program, that this is gonna stay
off this time.
