Managing Diabetes Family Style – “My Almost Life” webisode

[MATT]
Okay, looks pretty level. Hey guys, it’s Matt. Coming atcha straight from my
house with this week’s webisode. Hope you’ll share this one even more than
my last one, “Six Ways to Beg for a Car.” [LILLY]
You’re still not getting a car…. [MATT]
You guys know my sister, Lilly—so not shy. But Mom is. [LILLY]
She knows you’re sucking up. [MATT]
She knows what it takes to keep this family eating healthy. Which we need, because we just found out that
Grandma here and my dad have even more in common than we thought. [GRANDMA]
Besides good looks? [MATT]
Okay, that, but also type 2 diabetes. It runs in our family, but that
doesn’t mean that we all have to get it. [Grandma]
That’s true. [MATT]
Because we’re on top of it as a family. We’ve got it all mapped out, like an action plan. Because some family traits just don’t need to be shared. [GRANDMA]
You call that handwriting? Oh, let me fix that. [MATT]
I’m out of here before she finds something to fix on my face. Dad’s probably hiding out downstairs. Smart man. Boom. This used to be a total man cave. Mini-fridge full of whatever, let’s just
say soda, big fat recliner, monster TV. But instead, we tricked it out. So getting more exercise, part of that whole
dealing-with-diabetes thing, doesn’t have to suck. Hey, observe how it’s done. [LILLY]
Let’s go show them how I help too. [DAD]
Aww, just when I was about to win. [GRANDMA]
Hey, Lilly, my show’s almost on. Where did you hide my remote? Oh,
there it is. Here, give it back to me. C’mon, you do this to me all the time. [LILLY]
Are you getting this? [GRANDMA]
This is hard work, little girl. Your grandma’s old, running after you. [MATT]
No actual grandmothers were harmed in the making of this video. [DAD]
I’ll take this. We all took a vote. Tonight’s exercise is—a dance off! [MATT]
What happens in this living room should probably stay in this living room, but I’m gonna let this roll. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. ’Til next time. Matt out. Hey. Ooh, nice. Hey, nice moves. [MUSIC]
