How Do I Prioritize Losing Weight and Gaining Muscle? | Ask A Trainer | LA Fitness


♪♪♪ Hi and welcome back to another episode of Ask a Trainer, I’m your host Candice Currie,
joined here today with Pro Results® Trainer, Morgan Connors. Morgan, I’ve got another question for you. Alright. So, if I want to lose weight and gain muscle, which should I prioritize first?
Losing the weight or gaining muscle? I love this question. We get this question a lot when
we have clients come in and we have a great analogy for it. So, if you can kind of picture a stage, you know, you’re sitting there
waiting for the play and the curtains open and you can see all the players. So, if we think of our body fat as kind of like the curtains
and our muscle tissue as more of the players we really want to focus on getting that body fat out of the way first
that way we can really focus on and enjoy the show. I like that! So, with that, we would kind of focus more on the cardio first. So, hitting the cardio
kind of hard and then moving on kind of into that weight training program. So, with that, a little bit about kind of just the zoning on that, you’d want to go mainly in that
fat burn zone so we could target those curtains, target that body fat and then we’d kind of want to kind of go into that cardio zone and
that’s going to be like three words and kind of breathy there at the end. What that’s going to do is allow our heart to keep up with that training program. Got it, okay. Well, if you have a fitness question you’d like to send us go ahead and shoot us an email
