Diet & Nutrition : How to Prevent Obesity

Beach, Florida. In this clip we’re going to talk about how to prevent obesity. As we all
know obesity has become a national phenomenon that we’re all dealing with. Whether it’s
you or whether it’s someone that you care about, it’s definitely affecting us, and the
best ways to prevent it are to focus on number one, what you eat, and number two, how much
activity you do, because obesity and weight comes down to the basic equation of activity
and calories consumed. So one is burning calories which is your activity and one is consuming,
so historically our ancestors used to all be very active. Our men would be out hunting
and the women would be home caring for children, caring for the household and you know, even
building the household to a certain degree and farming and things of this nature. So
I definitely encourage you to work on the activity level, but in addition if you work
a sedentary job which most of us do in today’s age, then I definitely encourage you to focus
more on what you eat, and make sure that you’re really limiting how much of the carbs that
