Bariatric Plus Size Knee Brace With Hinges for Arthritis & Meniscus Tears by BraceAbility

Hi I’m Janet with BraceAbility and I’m
from the customer service department and today I’m going to talk to you about our
bariatric plus-sized hinged knee brace. Okay so what does this brace do? It’s
designed to provide moderate to heavy duty support of any knee injuries and it
will also help alleviate pain and further injury from arthritis,
meniscus tears, muscle and ligament weaknesses, general knee pain, and more. So
this brace does come in Asian sizing and you might be thinking okay what’s Asian
sizing? Well Asian sizing runs very very small, and so don’t be surprised after
you take your measurements and you look at the size chart that you’re in a size
that you’re not normal in. And this is a three XL and normally a three XL
would be quite large. That’s not my normal size. And this brace
when you open it all up this is the three XL. Now we’ve got several sizes
within this style of brace and that’s basically for your comfort and usability.
So what are some of the features of this brace? It’s made of 1/4 inch premium
neoprene fabric which is going to help heat retention and flexibility for a
more comfortable fit. This brace also has dual-axis polycentric hinges which
provides additional support to the medial, which is the inner part of your
knee, and lateral, which is the outside part of your knees. It’s also especially
useful for those people who carry around additional weight. Due to the thicker
material of this brace many of our customers find it difficult to wear under
clothing, so many prefer to wear it with shorts or over their pants. If you’re
looking for a low-profile lightweight support for your knee this is not going
to be the brace because it’s for the moderate to heavy duty support. How do I
wear it? How do I put it on? So when you put it on you need to undo
the straps, lay the brace flat, and identify the top of the bottom. The top
obviously is going to be a little bit wider than the bottom because your
thigh is larger than your calf. Position the brace behind your knee with the tag
in your left hand. Wrap the bottom portion snugly around your leg and
secure the fastener. Repeat on the top portion, leaving the opening around your
kneecap. And that opening should be centered on top of your kneecap for
maximum support. Wrap the bottom strap around your calf and feed it through the
bottom D-ring and then repeat with the top strap. So even when wearing the
brace correctly it’s going to slide down your leg, and that’s due to gravity! So if
that happens no worries, just pull it back up and continue on with your day.
And some people might need assistance with putting this brace on and off so
don’t be afraid to ask for help. Is this brace for you? I don’t know! Your doctor
is probably going to be the best one to ask and you should have that discussion
with him or her and they will be able to tell you what is going to work for you
with your specific injury or condition. Secure all the closures just like you
got it in the package and then you wash it in lukewarm water with a mild
detergent and let it air dry and you probably do want to unwrap it when you
do let it air dry. Hopefully I’ve answered all of your questions today or
at least you’ve learned more about our bariatric plus-size hinged knee brace but
if you still have questions don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know
what those questions are. And we are anxious to help you get back to life so
until next time, thanks for watching!
